Official Counter:        Nicole Shangi

Observers:        Bob Hall-Brooks, Hugh Kent, Michelle Mastellotto,
Olga Klekner, Paul Pratt, Peter Veighey

Visitors:
Thank you to all of our visitors today including Paul, Michelle, Peter,
Bob, Chip, and Olga.

Weather:
The weather today was warm and clear with mostly Southerly winds. The wind
was very weak and as a result many non-raptor species were spotted today
from the tower.

Raptor Observations:
There is very little to report on the raptor front today. The weak and
south winds kept most of the raptors north of us. This morning we spotted a
few sharp-shinned hawks, harriers, and a peregrine who caught a fancy tree
swallow breakfast. Later In the day we spotted a kettle of turkey vultures
far to the north, but not much after that.

Non-raptor Observations:
The lack of wind and raptors gave us another opportunity to spot some
non-raptor species. New species today include marsh wren, hermit thrush and
dark-eyed junco. There were lots of bugs around today and this caused
hundreds of swallows, ring-billed gulls, herring gulls and Bonaparte's
gulls to swarm over the marsh. Quite a sight!

Predictions:
Tomorrow will be another warm day with southwest winds. We may not see
large numbers of raptors, but you never know! Regardless, there is always
something to see from the tower to keep things interesting. Always worth a
visit!
