Neighborhood Rain Garden Workshop/Volunteer Opportunity
9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 11
1700 block of South L Street, Tacoma
Curious about what building a rain garden is all about? Volunteer to help build rain gardens on July 11 and you'll learn how to design and install a beautiful rain garden at home. Rain gardens can help manage your stormwater drainage while also protecting our local waterways.
Hand tools and refreshments will be provided, but bring your favorite. Plan on dressing for warm weather, and bring gloves and boots.
Volunteers who contact Pierce Stream Team to sign up by July 9 receive a free bag of TAGRO Potting Soil at the event. One lucky volunteer will also receive one yard of TAGRO with free delivery within Tacoma City limits. Call (253) 845-2973 or e-mail streamteam@piercecountycd.orgmailto:streamteam@piercecountycd.org.
This event is brought to you by Stewardship Partners, Native Plant Salvage, the Puyallup River Watershed Council, Pierce Stream Team, Waste Connections Inc., LeMay Inc. and the City of Tacoma.
