Vuecrest Monthly Board Meeting

Interim Director

At this month’s board meeting, Eileen Foley was named Interim Director to serve the remainder of Michael White’s term, pursuant to the bylaws of the Vuecrest Community Association. Eileen will continue to serve as Secretary.

Many thanks to all who are pitching in to support our neighborhood after Michael’s passing.

Vuecrest Picnic

The Vuecrest picnic is scheduled for this Sunday, August 24th, from 4-8pm. We’ll be bringing back Maximus/Minimus (the giant pig truck) that was such a hit at last year’s picnic. Also, see the Volunteers section below.

Call for Volunteers

We need volunteers to help with the set up before and cleanup after the picnic. The work involves setting up and taking down tables and chairs, moving barricades, arranging tablecloths and other decorations, and helping make sure that our esplanade looks great after the party. Teens are also welcome to help out. If you can help before, after, or both, please email social@vuecrest.net mailto:social@vuecrest.net .

The board is still looking for a volunteer to write our monthly newsletter and help with other board communications tasks.  If you are interested, please email directors@vuecrest.net mailto:directors@vuecrest.net .

Keep Vuecrest Beautiful!

One of the attractions of Vuecrest is the spring display of flowering plum trees. Sadly most of the original trees have died or been replaced. Those that remain require rather drastic pruning to prevent the ‘sucker” or water shoots that can grow 6 to 8 feet in one year from blocking neighbors’ views. Several years ago one neighbor was told that doing the pruning in August instead of in the winter, as is traditional, can reduce the amount of growth. He has been following that practice for the past several years with good results.

The board is looking into re-staining the mailbox stands throughout the neighborhood. Please do not paint the mailbox stands or post notices or other decorations that would get in the way of this work.

Vuecrest Monthly Board Meeting

Due to vacation and travel conflicts, there will not be a quorum for the August meeting, so it has been cancelled. If necessary, a Special Meeting may be called for time-sensitive items, and would be announced in advance via email and open to all members of the community.
