Lantern Paddle, Cleanup & Festival
What a success! Opening weekend of Tacoma Ocean Fest month saw hundreds of folks gather safely to remember endangered species in a magical Lantern Paddle, clean up 700 pounds of trash at the Tacoma Shoreline Survey & Cleanup, and celebrate, learn and protect the ocean at the Sunday festival. Big thanks to all of you for making it so special - and to all our sponsors, partners, performers, artists, eco-booths, speakers and volunteers. It truly takes a village. (Photo credit: 350Tacoma.) We'll be posting photos and livestream videos soon.
MEANWHILE - Don't miss the rest of Ocean Month events! Keep reading... |

Trashoctopus on tour...
It's big. It's orange. Meet the Trashoctopus, a giant sculpture that doubles as a trash can to remind us all to keep our garbage out of the ocean. It's now on tour, starting this Fri-Sat at the Point Defiance Marina, then Sunday at Titlow Beach. Don't be shy. It loves photos. :) |
