It was another cool morning but the rain let up and hopefully we’ll have clearer conditions for the afternoon. Fewer than 10 species of Warbler so far today.
All 5 species of swallow were seen at the Tip this morning. Also 10 HORNED GREBE and a few SURF SCOTERS were noted.
Birding was pretty slow but the Hooded Warbler continued on the Woodland Nature Trail. A second Hooded Warbler was seen near the north end of the Visitor Centre parking lot. The Red-headed Woodpecker continues near Bridge A on the Woodland Nature trail and another was found on Shuster.
A PEREGRINE FALCON was noted flying along the east side of the Park.
Just south of the halfway Tram stop the PILEATED WOODPECKER was noted.
Outside the Park at Mersea Road 21, where it meets Mersea Road 2, there was one Ruddy Turnstone.
And 3 WILLET have been reported at the east end of Mersea Road 1.
