Registration is open for two new classes starting in January 2014: Western
Washington Hawkwatching with Bud Anderson of Falcon Research Group,
and Intermediate

NOVEMBER:
Coal Trains Debate is tomorrow- Saturday, Nov.16th at 7pm at St. Leo
Church, 710 S. 13th in Tacoma. Organized by No Coal Trains South Sound and
co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters and Tahoma Audubon. Come here
both sides of the debate on Saturday night. Public comment deadline for
the Longview terminal is Nov.18th!
"Kayaking the Inside Passage, Alaska" presented by local adventurer Pat
O'Connor, at our membership program. Free to members and the public.
Thursday, Nov.21st at 7pm at the Tacoma Nature Center
"Rare Birds" author Maria Mudd Ruth to talk abut Marbled Murrelets at the
University of Puget Sound on Friday, Nov.22nd at 5pm in Trimble Hall. Free
- sponsored by Sierra Club and the Sound Policy Institute at UPS.
DECEMBER:
*15th Anniversary Potluck party and #GivingTuesday *celebration at the
Adriana Hess Audubon Center in University Place. Please bring a dish to
share! 4:30-7pm on Tuesday, Dec.3rd. Drop in anytime. Free, donations
welcome.
*Winter Bird Walk: *enjoy a guided bird walk at the Adriana Hess Wetland
Park in University Place on Monday, Dec.9th starting at noon. Free.
114th Annual Christmas Bird Count: Saturday, December 21st in Tacoma and
Pierce County sites. Free. Join us for a day of counting wintering birds,
and finish it up with a community potluck at the Tacoma Nature Center. No
experience necessary. Free. More info at:

*Annual Morse WinterFest *at Morse Wildlife Preserve in Graham, WA. Get the
family outside this winter and explore this private preserve while sipping
hot cocoa. No pets allowed. Free, donations welcome. Sponsored by Tahoma
Audubon, Forterra, and Morse Force volunteers. Saturday, Dec.28th fro
12pm-3pm. More info at: www.morsewildlifepreserve.org
