Puyallup River Watershed Council Meeting
Wednesday, March 25, 2009
5:00-7:00 p.m.
Sumner City Hall (Council Chambers)

Join us for two great topics provided by Dennis Dixon and Dan Wrye of
Pierce County Surface Water Management.

Our first speaker, Dennis Dixon,  a Civil Engineer will give a
presentation discussing a new age of geology:  the process on channel
migration zone, mapping and implications of that mapping for the rivers
in Pierce County.  Some of these implications have long range impact on
the quality of life in the county.  You will be impressed by the impact
of the recent movement of large and small rock, gravel, and sediment
moving off of the mountain into our rivers and how this has changed the
channelization of our rivers.  Also in attendance will be USGS/National
Park Geologists.

Our second speaker, Dan Wrye, Water Quality and Watershed Manager will
discuss the County's 2009 NPDES Stormwater Management Program Update.
You may preview copies of that Program are on the web at
www.piercountywa.org\swm  One important component of the County's 2009
Stormwater Management Program is a proposal the County has submitted to
Department of Ecology to fund a Watershed Approach to Water Quality
Management.  Dan will talk about that proposal and how the PRWC will be
involved and impacted.
