The two emergency/temporary Acts allow employers to exclude medical providers and emergency responders.
Are any cities out there excluding emergency responders from Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act and Sick Leave Pay Act?
As a practical matter, how are you doing this? Through policy? Through Union negotiations (although not sure you have to negotiate as a management right allowed by law)?
Any other concessions given to emergency responders in lieu of excluding them?
Any thoughts or ideas are welcome!
