Shipping your Boat Overseas

I have a several page document, FREE for the asking, about overseas
shipping of yachts and boats. If you are in the market for this kind of
service, then you need this. I will probably add some material about
domestic shipping by truck and web sites like USHIP, later this spring.
In the meantime, this is not posted on the web and won't be for a while,
so you have to send me a request for a copy.

This is not an advertising piece, but a technical evaluation of the
practical issues of finding a shipper, agent, forwarder. The legal
framework and how to protect your money and get the job done. This is
not light reading for those with a weak stomach.

Subjects covered:
Bonding
Costs
Definitions
My Comments
Trucks
Major Providers
Useful Web Links
Web searching for reviews
Federal Maritime Commission
Videos
Jones Act
Agents
Loading, cradling, hazardous materials.

P.S. To be candid, I am tired of explaining this stuff over and over to
people and trying to remember the details, so I have put it in a document.

Regards,
Capt. Mike Maurice
