Celebrate Green Tacoma Day with Citizens for a Healthy Bay!

As part of the Green Tacoma Partnership's 3rd Annual Green

Tacoma Day, CHB is proud to host a habitat restoration

project at the Gog Le Hi Te Wetlands.

A former landfill along the Puyallup River, Gog Le Hi Te is now a thriving
and healthy ecosystem supporting several species of salmon, a variety of
birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles.  This 9 acre wetlands is part of
the Port of Tacoma's habitat restoration efforts in order to restore habitat
for salmon and other native wildlife.

When:  Saturday, September 25th, 2010

Time:    9:00am to 12:00pm

Where:  Gog Le Hi Te Wetlands, entrance is off of Lincoln Ave. near Stewart
Ave., Port of Tacoma area of Tacoma

What:  Mulching around young plants to help retain moisture & prevent growth
of noxious weeds and invasive species.  Time permitting we will remove some
invasive plants.

Please wear sturdy close-toed shoes, work clothes, leather gloves and rain
gear since we will be working rain or shine.  Bring a water bottle.  Snacks
and drinks will be provided.
