10/24/11 - New Haven, Lighthouse Point hawk watch -- 1 imm. BROWN
PELICAN (landed on water just off point, perched briefly on green
channel marker No. 11); 1 CATTLE EGRET (flyby bird descended as if to
land in boggy spot near lighthouse but, changed its mind and flew east
toward airport); c 10 AMERICAN PIPITS, 3 EASTERN MEADOWLARKS, 2 PURPLE
FINCHES.

10/24/11 - New Haven, Lighthouse Point park -- Brown Pelican in the
harbor by green bouy 11.

10/24/11 - Westport, Sherwood Island SP -- Peregrine Falcon,
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, 2 Nelson's Sparrow, 2 Dickcissel on the east
end feeding in the foxtail grass.
Smith Richardson Tree Farm -- Winter Wren.

10/24/11 - Madison, Hammonasset State Park -- 6 Pectoral Sandpipers, 1
White-rumped Sandpiper, 1 White-crowned Sparrow, 1 Vesper Sparrow
(just east of the visitor center), 1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo on Willard's
Island (originally spotted by a couple whose names I didn't get).

Knots persist.  In spartina next to Piping Plover spit; 6 Nelson's
Sparrows (those seen well enough for ID all Nelson's).  In
CACC grounds, male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.
