Electrical Connections

I, and others, use synthetic grease, such as Super Lube, on electrical
connections, as it is much less expensive than a silicone based grease.
However, it is not recommended for rubber contact. If rubber contact is
involved a silicon based grease, which dielectric grease is made, should be
used. For heavy electrical connections, such as battery terminals,
Kopr-Shield is often recommended, as it is thought that the copper in the
product helps make a better contact. One day I stuck my multi-meter probes
in this stuff and noted no continuity, which makes me suspicious of this
claim. None-the-less, I like the claim and still use it on heavy draw
terminals.
