Three boats almost sunk in the marina today here in New Bern at the Northwest Creek Marina. Kudos to the alert Dock Master Paul noticing and catching them in time to dewater them enough to access and closed the open seacocks. Their strainers had frozen and the bowl broke. When they thawed today with the warmup water poured in through the open seacocks and broken strainer(s).
Close the seacocks if static and unheated(or heated as we have had several power failures with these low temperatures) and drain strainers in freezing weather.
