Come Walk with Us…

Great opportunities in July to walk together as we explore Upper Tacoma with guided walks that highlight Hilltop treasures.

This Saturday, July 19, 2008, 3:30 p.m.  Highlighting Hilltop Gardens & Green Space.
Start/Finish:  Peoples Park (Sign-in at the Multicare Booth), S. 9th & Martin Luther King Jr. Way , Tacoma .  Following the walk, we’ll have raffle drawings for rewards that include water bottles, $10 off vouchers for a Heart Advantage Consultation from Multicare, and other items provided by Multicare Center for Healthy Living.  Afterwards, enjoy the Tacoma Food Co-op Festival at Peoples Park , 4-9 p.m. Food, farmers, music, speakers, children’s activities, bike repair, community resources and more.

Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 6:30 p.m.  Highlighting Hilltop Art & Commerce.
Start/Finish:  Peoples Community Center, 1602 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Tacoma
See “what’s happening” on MLK Jr. Way, as we stroll the main street of this vibrant business district in the heart of Hilltop.  Following the walk, we’ll have raffle drawings for rewards that include water bottles, $10 off vouchers for a Heart Advantage Consultation from Multicare, and other items provided by Multicare Center for Healthy Living.

  • Walk ratings: Easy
  • Pre-registration is appreciated, but not necessary.
  • The walks will last about an hour, and are stroller & wheelchair accessible.
  • Community & health resources will be available.

Cushman Ave., Tacoma.  Put on your sneakers and join us, as we stroll through the neighborhood and discover more about its history.  The route will include the Vision Center, McCarver Elementary School , St. Joseph Hospital , Normanna Hall & D.A.S.H.
