Colleagues,

As you'll see from the message below and the attached letter, Senator Reed's office is inviting Senators to sign on to a letter to President Biden advocating for both $1 billion for adult education in the relief package and a doubling of the appropriation for Adult Education State Grants over the next five years. The letter is currently circulating to members of the education and labor lists [see https://www.help.senate.gov/about/members].

This is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness of adult education Senate-wide. I encourage you to take advantage of it by contacting your Senators today to encourage them to sign on. Feel free to forward the letter and message below. You can find your Senators' email addresses on the https://www.senate.gov/senators/contact. I believe that COABE will also be making this opportunity available through the https://coabe.org/educate-and-elevate/ platform.

Please do share this opportunity with colleagues, and let's make this a bipartisan effort!

Deborah

Hello.

We have started to circulate the attached letter.  The message below is circulating on the education and labor lists.

Senator Reed invites colleagues to join the attached letter to President Biden requesting significant investment in adult education as he considers proposals for a recovery package and the fiscal year (FY) 2022 budget, as well as broader efforts to build back better.

The deadline to sign on is February 16.

Please email Moira (mailto:moira_lenehan@reed.senate.gov) and Abby (mailto:abigail_borges@reed.senate.gov)
with questions or to sign on.  We will prepare the letter using Quill, and if your office uses the platform, you’ll be invited to sign the letter closer to closing.  Thanks!
