Crew:                  Ben, Brad, Kevin & Kurt
Remarks:
Better luck today.
Nothing happening at 09:30 so we pulled anchor and headed to our guard boat.
They quickly came on deck and got excited.  We said we wanted them to take a
picture  of our boat but no way, they said don't come close and set your
anchor again so we did and shortly a pilot boat came with a pilot and took
us to shore where we met Sanitation, Immigration and Customs.
With them was our loyal helper, Alex who did interpreting and became a good
friend.  He is part of 3 people here who have been working for us even
though we didn't know it.
After paperwork we met the other 2 friends Oojin and Alexay who have all
done a considerable amount of world sailing and wanted to help fellow
sailors.
Alex had to go back to work, so Ooojin toured us around and took us to a
great economical grocery store for supplies where the lady manager gave us a

free bottle of Champaign for our extensive purchases.  Next all 3 came to
the boat plus Alex's beautiful girlfriend and we drank and ate and told
stories till after midnight.
Tomorrow Alex will drive us around then another get together at the boat
tomorrow night.

Ben,
I have a project in the planning stages that would follow in your
footsteps. I intend to cull all your posts for the past few weeks and
study them. If I did not have to go to sea tonight, I would study them
now. Instead I have a question about visiting/stopping at Kamchatka.
Could you describe with details the process you went to get the Russian
Visa's and permission to stop.
I am not likely to be around to follow any posts or email until Monday
(our time). I need the info by Tues, as we would pull out of Hong Kong
in 10 days.

Thanks,
Mike

Ben,
I apologize, I would be wasting your time. I found some stuff on this in
an old post. It does not sound very inviting, but at least I know the
scheme.
Thanks anyway.
