Dear IMLA Members, We have received a request from an IMLA member regarding regulations on paid parking in municipal jurisdictions. Specifically, they are interested in learning whether any municipalities have implemented a policy requiring commercial developments to maintain a certain number of free parking stalls for customers while allowing excess parking stalls to be used for paid public parking. If your jurisdiction has implemented such a program, they would greatly appreciate any insights. Additionally, they are seeking examples of municipal codes addressing this issue, as they have had difficulty finding relevant case law or existing regulations.
