Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsIt is not necessary to buy the Seasonal Lockage Permit ($8.80/ft) to do
the Trent-Severn Waterway. Get The Transit One-Way Permit ($4.65/ foot).
The Transit One-Way Permit allows the boater to travel the entire Trent
Severn from Trenton to Port Severn, i.e. a one-time transit where vessels go
through each lock station only once. The Transit One-Way Permit is not
available from Parks Canada. Buy it directly from

Also, I would not buy the Seasonal Overnight Mooring Permit ($9.80/ft).
Pay as you go each night ($.90/ft). Break even point is 11 nights.

The above applies to the Trent-Severn only. If you are planning both
Trent Severn and Rideau in the same season then seasonal permits from Parks
Canada are more economical.
