Washington State History Musuem, 1911 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma
FREE
If you love to hike and explore in the Evergreen State, you'll want to join us this Thursday!
Ancient trails, some thousands of years old, are still close to the surface in Washington State. The second edition of Hiking Washington's Historyhttps://www.amazon.com/Hiking-Washingtons-History-Samuel-Althea/dp/0295990635, co-authored by Bentley with Craig Romano, traces 44 historic trails walked by Native people, explorers, military expeditions, homesteaders, railroads, miners, sheepherders, road builders, fire lookouts, and more. Meet Judy in person and hear about the history of some of these trails as she samples a few paths across Washington's spectacular terrain.
Judy Bentley taught English and Pacific Northwest History at South Seattle College for many years and has written more than 17 books, including guidebooks to state history.
See you at the museum for Judy's talk on FREE Third Thursday evening!
