About Auditions

·    Auditions are free. No experience or preparation is necessary, and
walk-ins are welcome.

·    Actors and their grown-up people will be asked to fill out an audition
form, including personal conflicts and/or schedule needs and basic contact
information.

·    Auditions last between 60 and 90 minutes, with actors staying
throughout. Grown-up people are welcome to observe.

·    Auditions consist of getting to know fellow actors, playing a simple
game or two, and some brief reading from the script selections. (Young
actors still learning to read are welcome, too, and will be asked to recite
some scripted lines.)

·    Actors will not be cast in specific roles until after the first
rehearsal. Instead, the audition is designed to build a cohesive group who
will collaborate well together.

·    If cast, tuition is due at the first rehearsal. Tuition is $300, with
a pay-what-you-can option for those with financial need.

About Pay-What-You-Can Tuition

·    A pay-what-you-can tuition option is available to anyone with a
financial need. Essentially, we are dedicated to ensuring that no child is
turned away based on their inability to pay for programming.

·    Those utilizing the pay-what-you-can tuition option are asked to pay
something at the beginning of the program and then do their best to raise
funds equal to their tuition balance through our ticket fundraiser.

·    Tickets to performances are only available by pay-what-you-can
donation. Those unable to afford tickets may be given free tickets.  Please
encourage those who can afford it to donate more per ticket to support the
young actors and the mission of Tacoma Youth Theatre.

·    All families are asked to spread the word about performances and
participate in the ticket fundraiser as a way to reserve seats for family
and friends, support the mission of Tacoma Youth Theatre, and help create
the outstanding performance experiences.

·    Full tuition may also be paid in up to three installments over the
duration of the program.
