So, I've never been involved in the municipal budget process, but a small town I work for had an issue with a Town Clerk who was half-assing it on her way out the door, and I suspect that the Town didn't meet the deadlines for the Municipal Budget Act. If they miss the deadlines for adoption of the budget, can they cure it later? Is there any authority on what happens?

I don't know of any type of extension.  If you have not passed a budget do it asap after the budget hearjng a d get it to the state auditor.
