Subject: Washington’s Film Industry Gets Green Light To Go Back To Work
Reply-To: kendra@washingtonfilmworks.org
Hello,
A few weeks ago, I reached out to update you on the current status of film production in the state. I now am happy to announce that the Governor's office has given us the green light and the motion picture industry can resume safe operations in any county currently in Phase 2 or Phase 3 of the Governor’s Safe Start Washington Phased Reopening County by County Planhttps://www.governor.wa.gov/sites/default/files/SafeStartPhasedReopening.pdf.
We are waiting for the Governor’s Office to publish the official safety protocols on their website but we have posted “the basics” on our website here.https://www.washingtonfilmworks.org/back-to-work We have also created this COVID-19 Set Safety Checklisthttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1XC9LZ7j6he2a4G8grjvRmqBleMHn-2Zm/view?usp=sharing that identifies what all productions must do to comply with the Washington State safety on set requirements. We are sending filmmakers this checklist and encouraging them to reach out to the local jurisdictions of where they plan to film to check if there are any additional safety guidelines that need to be followed.
We also want to make you aware of our recently launched COVID Production Resource Pagehttps://www.washingtonfilmworks.org/covid-resources-set-safety. This page will serve as a resource hub for filmmakers for things such as sourcing PPE, signage, safety videos, toolkits etc. If you have filmmakers asking for these types of resources, please send them to this page or have them reach out to me directly.
Once the safety on set protocols are up on the Governor’s website, we will send you the link. And of course, if you have any questions please let me know!
Cheers,
Kendra Ann Sherrill
