This summer, the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at UW-Tacoma is hosting a series of seminars, entitled “Human Dimensions of Environmental Change,” an interdisciplinary look at how we impact, protect, and talk about the environment.

All seminars are open to the public and run on Tuesdays from 10-11 am in Keystone 102 on the UW-Tacoma campus.

Our first seminar is on June 30th:

Dr. Kelly Beidenweig of the Center for Urban Waters:
Integrating Social Science Into Environmental Protection

Effective environmental management strives to improve the balance of interactions within social-ecological systems. Kelly Biedenweg will present on her efforts to enhance the social science foundation of resource management with natural resources agencies in Western Washington, including the Puget Sound Partnership, the Hood Canal Coordinating Council, and the Quinault Indian Nation.
