Interesting topic and it really depends on how you use your boat and
your location. I boat in Chesapeake Bay Waters and I would say 85% of
the time I am on the flybridge navigating. During inclement weather or
cold mornings, spring and fall trips I happily operate the ship from
below. The photo's of PDQ owners wearing parkas are due to us leaving
Whitby, Ontario on a cool Canadian day in May. After the photo's and
initial run down lake Ontario toward Cobourg, many including myself
went below and operated from the "inside". The recent photo of the 41'
on the new brochure was taken this past fall in Annapolis and it was a
chilly day indeed. (I was inside the boat!) What I like on any boat is
the option to choose where I operate my vessel. When the weather or
personal comfort permits, the Flybridge is a great place to be, open and
social with great visibility and the salt air. But...it sure is nice to
be inside smelling cookies baking running down the bay in a snotty cold
day.
