From Robert Dixon:
01/17/12 - Sterling yard, 179 Main St -- (starting 7:30am) adult male
YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD continues for third day; provided great looks
for many birders as it visited feeders and bird bath throughout the
day. FOX SPARROW (2) also at feeders. Birders are welcome. Please park
in driveway and walk around garage to backyard to view feeders.

From Renee Baade with Tom Hook:
01/17/12 - Wallingford, MacKenzie Reservoir -- female REDHEAD
continues.
Lebanon, Norwich Rd -- HARRIS'S SPARROW continues.
Sterling -- YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD continues, Fox Sparrow.
West Hartford, Reservoir 6 -- 3:30 PM; 4 SNOW GEESE, BARNACLE GOOSE,
Northern Pintail drake.

From Charlie Barnard:
01/17/12 - Bridgeport, Seaside Park -- A drake Eurasian Wigeon was
among 24 American Wigeon on the LIS side of the roadway, opposite the
pond at the eastern end of the park.

From Meredith Sampson:
01/17/12 - Old Greenwich, Highview Avenue -- COMMON RAVEN.

From Sean Murtha:
01/17/12 - Greenwich, Greenwich Harbor -- 16 LESSER SCAUP in the
harbor, one BONAPARTES GULL at the usual (SE) corner.

From Jan Collins:
01/16/12 - Somers -- mid-day; PINK-FOOTED GOOSE continues on Monday in
the same location, farm pond pasture, left of buildings, east side of
9th District at Hutton Rd.  When I stopped to check, 3 birders from
Maryland had driven up for the day and were delighted to get nice
looks before leaving to hopefully find the Barnacle and maybe the
White-fronted goose that have been reported in CT.  The Peregrine
falcon was in his tree on Hutton Rd again as well.
(Later heard from Maryland birder Marci Stutzman that they did have
success yesterday with the BARNACLE GOOSE at West Hartford Res
#6 from 3:15 to 3:45 PM.)

From Buzz Devine:
01/16/12 - New Preston, Lake Waramaug, West Shore Road -- 3 REDHEAD (2
drakes), LESSER SCAUP (hen).  Lake completely frozen except for one
small open area behind a gray house (#284).  Redheads intermingled
with a large number of geese and other ducks and are difficult to see
at times.  This location is best observed heading north on West Shore
Road.

From Dave Rosgen, w/ Jim Kandefer:
01/16/12 - Litchfield, N. Shore Rd. (Bantam Lake's Outlet) --
4:30-5:30 PM; 1 Northern Pintail.  Water was 75% open here, but 100%
frozen on the rest of the Lake.
