FESTACULAR! Who's in?!?! I can't take it anymore... I've been "all in" on virtual events starting with Tiff Pfluger's virtual 5KO in March then a few IM VR events, the first of two virtual Boston Marathons, Karen Dunn/Strengthen Your Stride's Virtual Races, Scoogie's Quaranteam Strong Virtual Challenge, Don Morrison/CCRS' Virtual Ice Cream 5K, Steelman Racing's Virtual Challenges, our own Gator Done Fun Run and Power Cycling Relays, and more Zwift than I care to mention! Those were great options to get through the past 6 months, but now I MUST HAVE A REAL EVENT!!! Where can I find one??? Well, shiver me timbers, they are slowly creeping back into existence!... It began with John Kenny re-starting the French Creek Racing OWS Race series and executing the entire 6 event series!... Then David Michener was able to conduct a very successful Steelman OWS race! And now, what to my wondering eyes should appear? But a pair of "FESTS", hooray!, and they are so very near (in time and distance)! And even better, there are Gator discount codes for both! I couldn't decide which to select so I did the next best thing and registered for both! Who will be joining me in this one (actually, two) small step for Don, one giant leap for our kind?? Before taking your leap, you may want to know "What are these events and how do I get more information and/or register??"... • French Creek Racing's "River Day SwimFest & SwimRun" takes place on Saturday, September 12 at the Norristown Trooper Rd. location. The many options include OWS (800m, 1mi, 5k) and the SwimRun (800m OWS/5k run/800m OWS; relay option available!)... I went with the SwimRun option. What a great warm up for Sunday's Gators DIY Tri! There are also several options from which to choose including the tri (750m OWS/8mi mountain bike/5k run; relay option available!), 5k and 10k trail runs, a duathlon, and an aqua bike... I went with the 10k run because I want two opportunities to ring that amazing bell at the top of the hill that Dave shared with us in our recent interview (see recording from September 2)!
