The Florida East Coast Railroad has request that the Coast Guard consider a request to allow the Railroad Bridge across the St Johns River to be closed for a period of 8 days as follows: The Florida East Coast Railway is requesting a bridge outage on the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. During this work outage the bridge will be in the locked down position with no boat traffic being able to pass thru the opening. However smaller boats may use the small boat span if they desire. This outage will start on Friday November 14, 2014 at 8:00 AM and continue till Friday November 21, 2014 till 6:00 PM. The Railway will be doing heavy machinery repairs during this bridge outage. The closure will allow FEC to finish repairing this bridge so that it fully functional and will no longer be on the temporary operating schedule the mariners are currently subject to. This conflicts with no Game day or special events.
