Ontario Rare Bird Alert for the week starting August 12, 2022

Details: I have tried to indicate the finder, where known. My apologies to
those who I have left out. You can help me by giving the finder's name(s),
if known, in your eBird checklists.
BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCK (Durham): Christian Friis found one at
Cranberry Marsh on August 16 that was seen by many through August 18.
SOLITARY SANDPIPER (CINNAMONEA) (Chatham-Kent): One bird was photographed
at Blenheim Sewage Lagoons on August 12 that remained to at least August 13.
NEOTROPIC CORMORANT (Frontenac): The bird found by Jenny Newton in
CataraquiBay on July 28 was seen by many all week to at least August 18.
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON (Hamilton): Presumably the same adult seen
earlier last month at LaSalle Park and Pier 4 Park was reported from
Bayfront Park August 12.
