Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsEvery now and then I get it right. Just like that broken clock on the
wall. Actually they had the canal running back in November. All locks
were working then already and they opened for a week or so to let stuck
boats in and out.
Some of the locks on the eastern Erie Canal may look a bit nasty, but
they'll be prettied up shortly.
Just got my engine started, fresh water filled, etc etc. All is well,
except the fresh water pump is not feeling so well. No big deal, takes
about 10 minutes to change it out.
Now what the heck did I do with my canal pass?

Well, Fred, you were right and I was wrong about the Canal Corp
getting the canal open by May 1st in spite of the flooding.
I am glad I was wrong!!
