Beautiful morning to be out.
On the marsh: Our osprey pair was in the nest and then male took off,
flying around , then returning later.
Many Brant, 7 Greater Yellowlegs, 2 mallards, 2 American Black ducks,2
Great egrets further out, 2 Buffleheads.
On the grounds & paths: 3 Mockingbirds- 1 pair chasing the third
individual, 1 White throated sparrow, 8 Mourning doves- 2 nesting in eves
of the center building, Redwinged Blackbirds and Grackles calling, 4
Robins, including a pair at the water fountain, pair of cardinals, and
grackle at the water fountain.
On the Long Island sound side: Brant, 8 Canada Geese, 1 Sanderling, 7
Oystercatchers loudly flying around ( with two separate as a pair), 4 Red
breasted mergansers in lagoon and 3 on LI sound, 4 Tree swallows visiting
the nest boxes (which then got visited by House sparrows), 2 Common Loons
on LI sound, 3 Piping plovers along with Ring billed and herring gulls.
