Fellow Municipal Practitioners:
As you may be aware, IMLA has a Local Government Fellows Program. Currently, there are only four (4) attorneys in Oklahoma that I am aware of that have this recognition. Although it requires time commitment and work, I believe that it is well worth it, particularly because it is one way of demonstrating your competency on a national level to your elected and appointed officials. If you are the City Attorney of a larger legal department, it is also an opportunity to facilitate cross-training and increase the knowledge of your less-experienced attorneys.
Applications are due on March 23rd. I would encourage you all to consider participation in this wonderful program. If you have any questions about the process, please do not hesitate to call me, John Dorman, Andrea Chism, or Michael Vanderburg. I have attached the link below for your additional information.
Have a great Hump Day!
