4/24- Milford, Coastal Center-10am-1PM. overcast turning sunny, 63F, high
tide-rising.
Lots of visitors in the late morning- some from New Hampshire, England and
locals.
Our ospreys are incubating eggs- male flew back & forth on his perch,
brought in some branches for the nest; female on nest and got a break when
the male came on the nest. 2 Other ospreys circling the marsh and 1 got
chased away from the nest.
Several Purple Martins in the gourds and flying around.
On the marsh (viewed from inside the building): about 200 Brant spread
throughout the marsh, 5 Great Egrets, 1 Green winged teal, 4 American
Oystercatchers on mudflats, 4 Mute swans, 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 1 American
black duck, about 22 D.C. Cormorants diving and swimming throughout the
marsh.
On the grounds & feeders: 4 Mourning doves, 2 Cardinals, 2 Fish Crows, 1
American Crow, 2 RW Blackbirds, 8 House finches,2 Cowbirds, 2 Starlings, 1
Red bellied woodpecker, 1 Mockingbird, 6 Common Grackles, 7 Robins and
numerous House sparrows- some making nests.
