Secure outgoing US Mail
We are pleased to announce the availability of a secure outgoing mailbox in
Vuecrest. It is located at 1004 Park Road, at the intersection of Park Road
and Vineyard Crest. It has a placard on the front that says,"OUTGOING U.S.
MAIL". Instead of using the clip in your own mailbox for outgoing mail,
which is not secure, simply place your outgoing mail in this mailbox. The
Post Office has the only key, and picks up from it as part of their daily
rounds. Thanks to our US mail carrier Roy for suggesting this, and to Lisa
Bursett for making it happen. Attached is a photo of the outgoing mailbox.
Assessments Update
A sincere note of appreciation to the 180 property owners who have paid
their 2012 assessment! For those who have not paid, the assessment is now
30 days past due - late fees and interest charges will apply from this point
forward.
P-Patch at Grace Lutheran
Calling all budding vegetable gardeners! Would you like to participate in a
P-Patch project at Grace Lutheran? An effort is just now getting organized
to setup about 30 plots; there is some up-front work to prepare the land,
and then rent will be charged for people who choose a plot. The initial
meeting will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Pearson Hall on Sunday,
March 11 at noon.
Egg Hunt
A reminder our annual Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, March 31st at
11am. See you there!
Covenant Corner - Noxious Use
One of the provisions of our covenants is around "noxious use". The
covenants say, "No noxious use or undesirable thing shall be permitted on
the property." What is noxious use? The dictionary defines noxious as
"harmful or injurious to health or physical well-being". One dimension of
that is in provision of food, shelter and water for rodents and other
undesirable animals. There are simple steps we can take to minimize their
impact. Please consider the following suggestions and how they may apply at
your property:
REMOVE FOOD
. Remove food scraps spilled around trash containers (Toters).
. Dispose of all garbage only in Toters with secure lids, and keep
lids tightly closed at all times. If you need a replacement Toter or a
larger size to accommodate your needs, please call Allied Waste at
425-452-4762.
. Do not leave pet food outside, ever.
. Do not store pet food or any other food in the crawl space or
outside.
. Remove all pet feces immediately.
REMOVE SHELTER
. Cut and/or remove all high weeds, tall grass and unkept bushes or
shrubs. Remember, our covenants limit hedges to six feet, and four feet on
the street side of any property. Keep bushes and hedges well-maintained.
. Prune low branches on trees.
. Do not store firewood or any other items against buildings.
. Close all holes in walls, foundations, floors, and around pipes
with cement and sheet metal. There should be no opening greater than one
half of an inch anywhere.
. Get rid of unneeded items stored in basements, cellars, or attics.
REMOVE WATER
. Make sure outside faucets are turned off and are not leaking.
. Control standing water.
. Do not leave water dishes out for pets.
. Check for leaking water pipes or faucets and repair as needed.
. Remove any water standing in the basement, crawl space or other
lower level.
