All hands--

Contrary winds and big seas have turned the 600-mile passage from
Labrador to Greenland into quite a challenge for the Brown brothers
aboard their Intruder 21.

With 100 miles to go, in order to conserve their remaining fuel, they
have shutdown the 115-hp Suzuki that provides their main propulsion
and are resorting to a 9.9-hp kicker which sips less than a gallon per
hour while managing four knots.

The production Intruder has a 40-gallon fuel tank. The Cross-The-
Atlantic boat carries up to 350 gallons of gasoline.

The Intruder 21 is a tunnel catamaran designed for use as a flats boat.
