I recently had the pleasure of staying at friends home in Reparius New York
directly on this upper portion of the Hudson well above navigable water
other than tube kayak or canoe. Beautiful and worth exploring

Dear Loopers,

Most of you are familiar with the Hudson River.  Five miles wide at Tappan
Zee, 200 feet deep at West Point ... the Mighty Hudson River.

And when you reach Fort Edward (my home) on the Champlain Canal section of
the Hudson, you make a right turn, leave the river and take the land cut up
to Lake Champlain and Canada.  But have you ever wondered what's north of
Fort Edward on the natural river?

Here's my page with a few pictures of the headwaters.  I'll add more
photos later, but this will give you an idea of what it looks like:

Each photo has a link marked "high-res" for you folks with large screens,
to enjoy nature's scenery at its finest.  :)

Hope you all like it ...
