Join Downtown On the Go and Transportation Choices Coalition for Park(ing) Day in Tacoma on Sept. 16, 2011.
Park(ing) Dayhttp://parkingday.org/ is an annual global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into "PARK(ing)" spaces: temporary public places. This fun, community event is intended to call attention to the need for more urban open space, to generate critical debate around how public space is created and allocated, and to improve the quality of urban human habitat.
Sign up now to host a spot anywhere in downtown Tacoma! Participating does not cost anything but you are responsible for designing the site and feeding the meter.
If you can't host a parking space but would like to get involved, join Downtown On the Go for a walk to each new "park" on Sept. 16 at noon beginning at the UW Tacoma.
