Panel will prioritize artists with ties to the Hilltop community Opportunity The Tacoma Community Redevelopment Authority, in partnership with the City of Tacoma, invites Tacoma artists and/or artist teams to submit qualifications for two opportunities at Valhalla Hall (1216 Martin Luther King Jr. Way): * An Exterior Mural - $8,000 Budget, All-Inclusive This is an opportunity to create a mural on two walls of the exterior covered courtyard, which serves as the entryway into Valhalla Hall. The mural must be painted on an appropriate substrate material off-site for installation on the building walls in coordination with the construction contractor. * A Decorative Gate - $12,000 Budget, All-Inclusive This is an opportunity to design and fabricate artwork to transform a utilitarian entry gate into a beautiful work of art. Artwork must be created from durable materials that can be secured to the existing steel gate. Artwork may be designed and fabricated by the artist or designed by the artist but fabricated by a vendor.
