I represent a municipality that has been contacted by an individual that
wants to be buried on his property. He lives within the corporate city
limits but has several acres in a very rural area. He says he has obtained
"state approval" and we are obviously checking this out. We also have no
ordinances addressing this issue one way or another and no permitting
process. Has anyone run into this and does anyone have ordinances in this
regard?
Thanks.
Ted

Norman does not but we have addressed this issue previously. State law does not prohibit burying remains on private property. If there is a prohibition, it will most likely be in a zoning ordinance or restrictive covenants.
