Join us tomorrow evening, Tuesday, December 13th, to lift a pint and learn about air quality in Tacoma and Pierce County! The fun is all-ages and starts at the Tacoma Science Café at 6:30 p.m. at The Swiss, located at 1904 Jefferson Ave. in downtown Tacoma.
In Tacoma and much of Pierce County, we have a wintertime problem with fine particle air pollution, which comes primarily from wood smoke. Erik Saganic, Air Quality Forecaster and Air Resources Specialist at the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, will speak about the science behind our local air pollution problem, including the health impacts of fine particle pollution and what is being done to address it. Erik will also share the ins and outs of air quality monitoring, as well as perform his acclaimed "pollution-cloud-in-a-bottle" demonstration. For more information about fine particle pollution in Pierce County, visit www.cleanairpiercecounty.orghttp://www.cleanairpiercecounty.org.
The Tacoma Science Café is a monthly science forum sponsored by the Pacific Science Center and KCTS9. For details about other upcoming events, visit http://pacificsciencecenter.org.
Hope to see you there!
