The adult WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW continued at the feeders today. It was
scared out of the bird bath (along with the rest of the birds) by an
immature NORTHERN HARRIER later this evening. I stopped at the CAS Center in
Fairfield today, and I'm glad I did - birds were everywhere. Unfortunately,
I had nothing except my eyes, and could stay for less than an hour, but I
still assembled a good list. I even had a BLACK VULTURE on the way home -
all in all a great day with very, very little effort.

The birds of interest in Fairfield - using conservative estimates when
necessary:

8 BLUE-HEADED VIREO
3 BROWN CREEPER
3 WINTER WREN
3 MARSH WREN
8 GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET
6 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET
4 PALM WARBLER
1 CLAY-COLORED SPARROW
2 SAVANNAH SPARROW
3 SONG SPARROW
1 LINCOLN'S SPARROW
6 SWAMP SPARROW
15 WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
2 DARK-EYED JUNCO
4 HOUSE FINCH
6 PINE SISKIN

Tonight I also birded on Forest Road, producing the following (mostly by
Gallinule Pond). For those interested, there is no sign of the Gallinule.

3 WHITE CROWNED SPARROW (2 imm. 1 adult)
2 SAVANNAH SPARROW
1 LINCOLN'S SPARROW
4 SONG SPARROW
10 WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
5 DARK-EYED JUNCO
10 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET
1 GREAT HORNED OWL
