It is difficult because of limitations Facebook places on its API, namely that you can only retrieve data from the friends of the person logged in.  There is a plugin for NodeXLhttp://nodexl.codeplex.com/ that allows you to do that, and I suppose you could have some sort of procedure where participants come to a lab and log in to have their data downloaded.  I can't remember how much of the text content that app retrieves, though.  It's mainly for network analysis.

Hello!

Network data from Facebook Groups, Fan pages and a limited amount of the
personal time line is available (with text content) via NodeXL with the
Social Network Importer add-in.

See: http://socialnetimporter.codeplex.com/

NodeXL does provide basic text analytic features including word and word
pair frequency, salience, and mutual information values. Hashtags, URLs,
and @usernames are ranked.  The full text of posts and comments is included
in the "Edges" worksheet.

Which pages or groups are you interested in? I can post a sample to the
http://nodexlgraphgallery.org

Regards,

Marc

It is difficult because of limitations Facebook places on its API, namely
that you can only retrieve data from the friends of the person logged in.
There is a plugin for NodeXL http://nodexl.codeplex.com/ that allows
you to do that, and I suppose you could have some sort of procedure where
participants come to a lab and log in to have their data downloaded.  I
can’t remember how much of the text content that app retrieves, though.
It’s mainly for network analysis.
