Subject: Seles Displacement Cats
Thanks for your inquiry. I see you have come in thru our old Web site. The
company has now morphed into South Pacific Boat Builders Ltd. to better
reflect what we do and the prototype Seles cat is now called the Tiberius. I
invite you to visit our web site and view what we are now offering. We think a
far superior boat and we would be most interested in your comments.
With regard to prime mover there are two basic options outboard or diesel
inboard. These boats are displacement boats and require little effort to rive
them hence they are very very economical. We recommend they be driven with 60
to 70HP. On the web site we have some video footage. I invite you to view the
small degree of water disturbance coming off the stern when the boat is
speeding. The rest of the specs are there and price can vary considerably as
we provide a platform for the client to spec his own equipment.
At present we have just gone into production so delivery is at least 3 months
ex works but these times can vary depending on needs. We are very keen to get
into the American market and we have had a number of solid inquiries from your
country. We had a chap email us last Friday asking if we were to exhibit at
the Miami Boat Show. It would be nice to think we could but I'm sure we
wouldn't be able to cope with the interest. Flattering as it maybe but we are
a very small company by American standards. I think we would be best described
as a boutique manufacturer. The boats cost around $NZ400K - $US 300K sail
away but there are so many options that their value can change significantly.
The choice of drive is a big factor in cost. - Inboard - Outboard - supplier -
VW Yanmar (we haven't explored American manufactured motor options)
Electronics - finish, (Truck or Caddie) - Galley fitout - 12V or 12V-110V
-shore power.
You will appreciate the value of a Cats stability, it's volume it's low water
disturbance which is why these boats are so economical to run.
