The end of rain Sat night seemed to drop off a very large flight of Sparrows and esp Juncos
into my yard and neighbors next door. I estimate over 100 plus Junco were on our lawns, but so
many more were within the wood edge and pond. Never saw so many at one time before.
They were everywhere!
Also were many Golden-crowned Kinglet, some BT Green warbs plus 2 Red-breasted Nuthatch
and 10 Purple Finch on feeder.
Later, a large movement of Robin flew overhead all going EAST! Est: 150 plus.
The clear night tonight should push many of these birds farther south, maybe to the coast?
Let me know if that be the case please. Thank you...........

Hi folks
Today I took one of my rare trips north of the Merritt Parkway and
wasn't planning on any reporting because thing were very slow. But, I
have to comment on the contrast with Paul's observations. Down here
in Stratford and Shelton, the woods were still and eerily quit. There
were hardly and sparrows about in the brushy edges, and no chickadees
or kinglets etc. to be heard in the background.

Thanks Dennis for your observations.
This year it seemed many passerines overshot inland CT to land at the coastline with many flights of considerable numbers. My two recent fallouts of big numbers recently here in Harwinton though seem to support the fact these flights did not reach the coast even yet. I wonder if they will be noticed there today, for it was a fairly clear night last night - Sunday.
