Here are my thoughts:

I like the idea of utilizing this listserv for building professional relationship considering that we may all be working in the same areas of law for years to come and I think bouncing ideas off people is always a worthy endeavor.

Additionally, I think there are certain issues that are national legal issues with immense local government impacts, such as emerging telecommunications technologies and how state and local laws, especially right-of-way laws have to evolve constantly to keep up with the technology, or changes in health care on a national level and what they mean for local government, to things such as the evolution of constitutional law such as the use of GPS by law enforcement, as the Supreme Court just heard today. I suppose I like the idea of having discussions on the legal impacts for local governments of these and other national issues. I feel like that may be useful to all because, personally, I can think of only a finite amount of possible legal impacts and someone else might be able to think of other legal impacts. Certain issues effect local governments throughout the country and the more minds thinking about the possible ramifications the easier it gets to wade through the weeds.

about issues that may affect younger lawyers more than others.

always being the youngest person in a meeting of leaders ...
