Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes

I used your boat because I know you would understand and wouldn't mind. It
is an interesting word picture to imagine a Monk 36 trawler as a fast speed
boat.
Coincidentally, we are on the Tenn River MM 140 and a big Sea Ray came up
behind me. Asked him if he wanted to do a slow pass. He said yes. Asked him
if he KNEW HOW TO DO A SLOW PASS. He said, well I guess so. Which means he
doesn't. I talked him through it and it went great.

An example of a good report to the USCG is "Calling all concerned vessels in
the vicinity of Rock Hall MD......We have just been swamped with excessive
wakes by fast moving vessel SANCTUARY. We are still assessing damages.
Repeat - we are still assessing damages. Vessel refuses to acknowledge on
the radio and is moving away quickly".
HAHAHA... Good one, Ralph! The only boat that could make that call about
Sanctuary would be a canoe! I can very rarely pass another boat headed in
the same direction I am!
