Looking to check it out. Is there a trail or just a place to view what is on the pond. Thanks for any help.Ed bailey Monroe
Konolds Pond can be a tricky spot, and there's no single vantage that gives good views of the whole pond. Probably the easiest are a couple of short trails that lead to the pond from Bradley Rd; the best is near 41.3476095, -72.9779690; there's also one a bit further south. But this still leaves plenty of the pond out of view. Route 69 is pretty busy without a good shoulder, but it's possible to get glimpses between shrubs at the end of Warren Rd. (mindful of private property) and also at the end of Bond Rd. (a bit up the hill, looking over Route 69).
Others might have their own tips, too!
Hope this helps,

The "high caloric expenditure" (post Super Bowl?) option is to hike up the
orange trail in West Rock St Park, which gives you good looks over most of
Konolds Pond from the top. (There's often purple finches and other goodies
up there too, as a bonus.) But you have to haul your scope!
