We're looking for Water Festival volunteers!
This is a great educational event for over 900 5th grade students throughout Pierce County. This is our 9th
year of hosting the event and we hope you will be able to participate.
Without your help and support we wouldn't be able to make this event possible.
v What type of volunteers are we looking for?
Guides: lead a classroom group to their activities throughout the day. You will get to enjoy the variety of presentations that your classroom group attends.
Classroom Assistant: Help presenters with their classroom activity
Expo Hall: Help oversee a table display or other expo activity or bring your own (expo is a free area for students to wander around to the various stations) In the past this included: Fish painting, bubbleology, and the groundwater model.
Presenters: Teach a 25 minute classroom activity. Options are you could create your own or we have several already created presentations that you could choose from.
v WHEN? Thursday, April 12th, 2012 about 8:00am to 3:00pm.
v WHERE? Tacoma Professional Development Center - in North Tacoma
v WHY? You'll spend the day sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with an excited bunch of kids (5th graders), working with a great team of youth and adults, and probably learn quite a few things yourself. Free breakfast and lunch, also!
v WHO? The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, Tacoma Water, City of Tacoma, Pierce County Public Works and Utilities, and the Regional Water Association are sponsoring the 2012 Tacoma-Pierce County Children's Water Festival.
If you are interested in participating or need more information please let me know.
