Compensation: $700 per selected design

The City of Lakewood is seeking artists, including emerging artists, to propose an original design for reproduction and installation on signal cabinets in Lakewood. The wraps will deter graffiti and add visual interest and beauty to our shared streetscapes. Artwork can be submitted in any medium as long as it can be translated and digitally reproduced on a two- dimensional vinyl wrap.

Each approved final design will be compensated at the rate of $700 for an original design, and include all necessary licensing rights.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must reside in Pierce County.

  • There is no age limit.

  • Applicants cannot be a member of the Lakewood Arts Commission or employed

by the City of Lakewood.

There is no specific theme, but suggested themes for consideration are: Lakewood's unique history & character, diversity, unity, JBLM/Military service, Culture, Native American culture in the area, Farmers Market, neighborhoods, Fort Steilacoom Park, lakes, our historic downtown; student life (school, sports); indigenous plants/trees.
