There is also another ANDROID app I found called HUDSON RIVER CURRENTS. It
only has a few sites in it now but I am hoping with updates that will
increase.

Subject: GL: Android "Currents" app

For those heretics with Android devices, and interested in timing trips
involving prevailing coastal currents in rivers (Beaufort, Cape Fear,
Manasquan, Hudson, others) and harbors (NY, Charleston, Savannah, others)
there is a very nice Android app called "Currents" available from Google
"Play" (the old "Market.")  The app uses NOAA current data and overlays the
data onto a Google Maps background.  It displays an arrow indicating both
direction and speed (larger the arrow, greater the speed) of flow; like
Coastal explorer and other SW and chart plotters.  Clicking one of the
arrows brings up a data box with slack times, max ebb and flow rates, etc.
Date and time-of-day are set when the app is opened, but are easily
adjustable to show conditions at a different date/time.  This app is very
nicely done.  I'd rate it at 4 stars, only because It does not use the
device's GPS to find itself.  But, it's easy to scroll.    The home web
address for additional info is www.yoyana.com/currents.
