Dennis,

Unfortunately those partnerships date back to  "BC" (before computers) - so
all I've got now are some  old dog-eared papers.  At the moment, all I can
find  is a previous agreement which dates back to 1981.  Yes, we did  the same
thing once before with a smaller 32-ft sailboat.  I  believe the newer "Nancy
Jeanne" agreement was based heavily on this earlier  document with a few minor
amendments. I'd be happy to mail or  fax a copy of what I've got if you send
instructions. (E-mail me  off-list at HClews@aol.com (mailto:HClews@aol.com)  )

To make cost-sharing more equitable, we did make a  surcharge based on days
used and engine hours.  We sometimes waived the  fees during "ferrying" runs if
we were in agreement that we wanted the boat  moved to a new location.  (I
made several trips up and down the ICW at  minimal expense (to myself) in order
to reposition the boat for others who  had less free time.  That's the beauty
of joint ownership, it gives  you a lot of flexibility.)

All "home port" expenses were paid from group  funds, while other expenses
incurred while cruising were paid by  individuals. New equipment purchases had
to be approved by a 75%  majority of the group.  A 100% approval was required
for the addition of a  new owner.  Etc, etc.

Hi  Henry

Thank you for the positive response.  If you tried it and it  seemed to  work
well, then I guess there is hope.  Your  suggestion about heavy users  is a
good one, what about applying a  surcharge based on hours put on the  boat.
Do
you have an old  copy of your agreement kicking around  ??

Henry, how did you find the other owners, your partners in the boat?
Where they friends, strangers, or what?
